Her inspiration came from fashion, witches and covens and she tried to present a totally different perspective to normal bridal fashions by creating a sense of mystery and beauty using underwear colours of nude and black.

New York Bridal Fashion Week 2011

It's the biggest show of the year for American bridal designers so it's no wonder New York Bridal Fashion Week is a super popular event for designers, buyers, stylists and most of all brides. NYBFW really does showcase the best of the best bridal designers with a list of shows that includes the Queen's of bridal Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier & Marchesa. This year my favourite show was a tie between Vera Wang and Monique Lhuillier. From looking at these collections it's easy to see why almost every bride on the planet would love to wear one of their gowns. Feminine, modern, intricate and in a simply delicious palette of colours, the collections certainly are divine. I'm in love with the colour of the season - pink. Whether it be a baby shade, dusky or as pastel as can be it's certainly a fresh colour. Reese Witherspoon recently tied the knot in a pale pink custom made Monique Lhuillier gown no doubt helping to kick of the trend. In terms of style the bubble hem seems to be high on designers must-do list with both Oscar de la Renta and Christos both sending some bubbly goodness down the runway. Spring 2011 Haute Couture #2

One of the highly anticipated shows of Couture Week was that of Christian Dior, designed by John Galliano. Once again his show was exactly what you'd expect from a couture show - over the top, colourful and oppulent. Paying homage to the 50's, models were styled with bold red lips, dramatic lined eyes and classic 50's updo's. Pastel gowns were a feature of the show with shapes designed to truly show off the female form. Givenchy, designed by Ricardo Tisci, took a futuristic turn opting for neutral shades with blasts of orange, yellow and pink. Feathers, heavy embellishments and sheer fabrics were instrumental in creating a heavily layered but soft and fragile collection. All collections can be viewed at www.vogue.com.au.

Spring 2011 Haute Couture

Love love LOVE Couture Fashion Week. If you need some fashion inspiration then CFW is the place to go to get it. The standout show was easily Elie Saab. What this man can do to a dress is quite simply put ah-mazing. I have no doubt in my mind you'll see a few of his couture pieces popping up on the Oscars red carpet in a couple of months. Alexis Mabille went, again, for a pretty neutral palette with splashes of black and deep colours. I loved her skirts with billowing trains. So pretty! Valentino weren't as outstanding as expected. The new team behind the label, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli, showed an ultra feminie collection, although as far as couture goes it didn't scream 'look at me'. Bridal Fashion Week, Auckland 2011

From the 1st - 5th of April 2011 Auckland will play host to New Zealand's first ever Bridal Fashion Week. Held at the upper deck of Auckland's War Memorial Museum venue The Dome, BFW will showcase the best of New Zealand's bridal fashion from renowned designers Sera Lilly, Liz Mitchell, Rosemary Smith, John Zimmermann and Vinka Brides. Circus of Love

Collette Dinnigan showed her spring/summer 2011 ready-to-wear collection in Paris on Tuesday to a delighted crowd. The collection, Circus of Love, took inspiration from the fun, frivolity and youth of the circus. In hue's of butter cream yellow, willowy blue and pistachio through to dusty pale pink nudes, Dinnigan's asthetic harked back to the 1970's sport scene, complete with pleats and tulle.

Collette became the first Australian to start showing her ready-to-wear collection in Paris in 1995. Since then she's become, undoubtedly, Australia's finest fashion export, being stocked in the most beautiful boutiques around the world. This year is a milestone for the Collette Dinnigan label, celebrating 20 years in business in Australia, her London boutique is celebrating its 10th anniversary and it's the 15th year she's debuted a collection in Paris. McQueen Continues...

The first Paris showing without Alexander McQueen at the helm of his own label was always going to be an emotional rollercoaster. After his passing designer Sarah Burton took the reigns and made it her mission to keep Lee's fire burning bright. The collection proved to be a huge succes for not only Burton, but for the label itself. Staying true to the brand and to McQueen's vision, Burton included McQueen staples of brocade, embriodery, raffia, feathers, animal prints, handpainted leather and obmre silk ruffled chiffon. New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 - Monique Lhuillier

Opting for a more subdued palette with injections of spearmint green and burnt orange, Monique Lhuillier showed a collection that really epitomises her label - classic, feminie and simple. A super pretty aray of short hemmed dresses added a perfect amount of flirtiness to the collection with splashes of floral patterned fabrics hinting that spring is well and truly on its way. 50's style cinched waists, ruffles and lace embellishments added to the appeal although I would have loved to have seen a couple of longer alternatives. New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2011 - Carolina Herrera

New York Fashion Week is always a colourful affair especially where spring and summer are concerned. American's aren't affraid to use colour and it certainly showed as the spring/summer collections were bursting with vibrant, adventurous but easily wearable shades. I've always loved bright orange and pink as a colour combination and Carolina Herrera opted to have these two hues as the base to her new collection. Amazing! She always manages to make evening wear look so effortless. Her use of details like bows, sashes and crystals makes the pieces look ever so feminine which is why she's always a favourite amongst the a-list for red carpet do's. Island Adventure

The uber-lovely Collette Dinnigan celebrated the launch of her 2010 Resort Collection on Saturday 21st August with a show at Audi Hamilton Island Race Week. The Hamptons High Tea collection was unveiled at the Long Pavillion at luxury resort Qualia during an invitation only event. The collection, channeling silver screen vintage glamour, offered elegantly suggestive shapes with full skirted dresses of silk and pure cottons, ruffled swimsuits and cheeky playsuits. This year Collette is celebrating her 20th year in business so we wish all the lovely people at Collette Dinniagn a very happy 20th birthday!

I spent the weekend just been in Sydney wedding dress shopping with my dear friend Amie who is getting married next year. I'm super excited to be her bridesmaid and it so happens we've fallen madly in love with a couple of Collette Dinnigan dresses that would make amazing bridesmaid dresses.
