Kara Pennington - Part Duex Photography Week!

Another husband and wife team continue photography week! I am loving looking at all of these fantastic images! They are so inspiring, and the resounding love that is captured by each photographer is just so artistic! Don't you agree?

Kara Pennington and her husband Jeremey show us that once you determine your niche in life, and if you run with it at full sprint, you can succeed and thrive!

How did you get into Wedding Photography?

Jeremy: I started enjoying photography in high school and took every course I could in film, learning the basics there. Later on my wife was attending college for photography and we decided to go ahead and start our own business before she graduated. I started out as more of an outdoor and nature photographer, but since we started our business, weddings has definitely become a passion of both of ours!

Kara: Photography became a passion of mine shortly after beginning school at the International Academy of Design & Technology in January ’06 for my digital photography degree. We shot our first wedding in November ’06 and have been loving every second ever since!

What do you consider your style of photography to be?

Our style of photography is modern, fresh, and fun! We incorporate artistic and “out-of-the-box” ideas that make the day fun and exciting opposed to a more traditional approach. Our unobtrusive shooting style allows us to capture the real emotions and moments that happen throughout the day. Each of our images is edited with our signature style of vibrant colors and artistic enhancements.

If you could offer one piece of advice to a bride, and only one, what would it be?

Our first piece of advice is to DO YOUR RESEARCH! Find a photographer whose style you love, who has a great reputation in the community, and has a personality you can get along with well - your photographer will be with you almost every second on your big day, so you want it to be someone who is flexible and fun :) Talk to your married friends and get their advice on vendors to avoid and vendors they loved!

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of our job is being able to work together as a married couple. What we do is so fun and exciting, and being able to share that together is the best! The next most rewarding part of our job is definitely the praise that we receive from the awesome couples that we photograph!
